Quote: | "He's a very passionate individual of hockey and a highly successful businessman who's committed to the restoration of the Portland franchise, on and off the ice," Robison says.
|
Quote: | He says Portland and the WHL "are lucky" to get Gallacher, a successful oil and gas businessman in Calgary.
He's reportedly a billionaire, with Robison saying "he has the financial resources and capabilities to turn that franchise around."
"He's clearly extremely successful and a visionary in respect to his undertakings, and very diverse – sports, oil/gas and other endeavors," Bestwick says.
"He's a wonderful man and true gentleman. Aristocratic, yet down to earth," he adds, calling Gallacher the most genuine person he has met in hockey. "He surrounds himself with quality people, and he's a wonderful people person."

perhaps, but i might be very alone in my feelings of not wanting an NHL team. or at least, not at the expense of the hawks. i have been going to hawks games since i was 4 years old and i have a sort of connection to the WHL just as much as the hawks. i like the smaller scale feeling of it, and i like that small rural canadian towns can have a dynasty in a rather well supported league.
WHL for me all the way. |

I would love the NHL here, but I couldn't afford to go like I do the Hawks.
That would be a real mixed blessing. |

The more closely I am following the team, I am beginning to feel the same as you and savier. |
